ADA Title II
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is committed to making all digital resources accessible to everyone, including students, faculty, staff, and the public. This commitment is now more important than ever due to new federal regulations under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
What changed in ADA Title II?
In 2024, the U.S. Department of Justice updated Title II of the ADA to require that all public entities (including universities) meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level A and AA standards for digital accessibility. This includes:
- Websites
- Mobile apps
- PDFs and other documents
- Videos and audio content
- Online course content
- Social media posts
- Third-party platforms used for university business
The deadline for compliance is April 24, 2026, with limited exceptions (see Regulations below for full text).
