What is TATIL?

TATIL is short for Threshold Achievement Test for Information Literacy. TATIL consists of four tests, but we are asking you to take just one today that is called Strategic Searching.

The TATIL test helps instructors and librarians better understand how students find, evaluate, create, and communicate information for research. Having that information will help instructors create lessons that teach you specific skills and give you the tools needed to conduct research in other classes as well.

How long will it take?

The Strategic Searching survey will take approximately 30 minutes.

Can I take it with my cellphone?

No, unfortunately, you cannot take the test with your cellphone, however, you can use a tablet, laptop, or desktop computer. If you don’t have access to a computer, you can borrow a laptop at Bell Library or use a desktop computer at any public computer on campus or at the library.

Will the instructor know the results of my test?

Instructors will not receive students' individual results.
