Need a little help getting unstuck and working through a problem or concern?  

  • Call the Counseling Center at 361.825.2703 to schedule a virtual appointment OR stop by the Driftwood Building to meet with a counselor during walk-in hours, Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Whether you’re feeling stressed, stuck, or just need to talk, we’re here to listen and support you in figuring out next steps. (Walk-in appointments are available on a first-come first-served basis until we’re full).  
    Need help in the evening or on the weekend? Download the TELUS student support app for immediate counseling support by phone or chat or call the after hours Help Line at 361.825.2703. 

Urgent/Crisis Consults:

  • Same day crisis appointments are available for any student who is in crisis or urgently need to speak to a counselor. Examples might include suicidal thoughts/feelings/behaviors, recent traumatic event, recent sexual assault, severe anxiety or panic attacks, severe depression that is interfering with daily functioning, or concerns about the safety of another person.
  • Come to the Counseling Center during walk-in hours, Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. to speak with a counselor right away.
  • After hours, call 361.825.2703 to be connected to a crisis counselor by phone.
For life threatening concerns, call University Police at (361) 825-4444 or call 911 or go to the nearest Emergency Room.
