What is considered a private or 'outside/external' scholarship?

Private or 'outside' scholarships are those funds that are not awarded through the University. We have highlighted several private scholarship programs below.  You can also access a database with Private Scholarships on our Scholarship Universe page. 

I have received an outside scholarship. What do I need to do?

Congratulations on being a scholarship recipient! Monies provided through outside scholarships should be sent to the Office of Student Financial Assistance. Their offices will post the scholarship to your student account within 7-10 business days of receiving the funds.
