All new transfer students must complete Islander Launch orientation before registering for classes at TAMU-CC.

SUMMER 2025 and FALL 2025 orientation options for incoming transfer students are listed below. Please do not make travel plans until your orientation is confirmed. Use the link below to register.

What must I do before I can register for orientation? To complete the orientation registration process, students must:
- Be admitted for the upcoming term
- Claim their Island ID/password and set up Duo 2-factor authentication
- Use the Island ID/password to access their Islander email
How much does it cost to register for Islander Launch? The non-refundable fee of $85 per student is deferred at the time of reservation and billed as part of the fall tuition bill, even if you decide not to enroll at TAMU-CC.
What does the orientation fee cover? The fee covers all costs of offering an orientation program. Students participating in a virtual option will receive their welcome bag on campus in the first week of the semester.
Do I have to repeat the requirement if I completed an orientation program in a different semester? If you have been readmitted to the university and attended classes in a previous semester, you do not have to complete orientation again.
Is it possible for me to register for classes without completing orientation? No, a registration hold is placed on all student accounts, and the hold will not be removed until after the Islander Launch (orientation) requirement is complete.

When can I register for classes?
- If you select the in-person event option, you will register for classes in the afternoon with the help of an Academic Advisor.
- If you select the virtual option, your Islander Launch Mandatory registration hold will be removed when you score 100% on the quiz at the end of the required virtual course. After completing your required course, schedule an appointment with your Academic Advisor to choose classes that apply to your degree plan.
How do I access the virtual course to complete the requirement? Instructions for completing the course are sent to your Islander email when you register. You will not have immediate access to your virtual course. After 24 hours, you can complete the requirement by following the steps below:
- Log in to the TAMU-CC Canvas portal using your Island ID/password.
- Under Courses, select Transfer Islander Launch.
- Plan to spend around 1-2 hours reviewing the sections.
- Score 100% on the final quiz to complete the required course.
Is there a specific day or time I should log in to complete the course? No, the course is asynchronous, so you can log in and complete the course at any time or day that works best for you.
