Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to register? The orientation fee for first-year students is $100, and for transfer students it is $85. It is added to your tuition bill and paid later. The fee is non-refundable, even if you do not complete the orientation or decide not to attend TAMU-CC.
What does the orientation fee cover? It covers all costs for the required orientation program.
Do I have to repeat orientation if I attended before? If you attended classes in a previous term, you do not have to repeat orientation.
Can I register for classes without completing orientation? No, the registration hold is removed when you complete orientation.
Am I required to complete orientation? Most new students are required to complete orientation.

Is there a specific day or time I should log in? It may take up to 24 hours after you register for orientation to access the Canvas course.
How do I get my hold removed?
1. Check your Islander email for instructions after you register
2. Log in to Canvas using your Islander email/password. It can take up to 24 hours to have access.
3. Select Orientation under courses
4. Finish the modules; this takes about 60 minutes
5. Score 100% on the quiz
6. Your hold will be removed within 24 hours.
