Wellness
Centered around the eight dimensions of wellbeing (social, emotional, physical, environmental, financial, spiritual, intellectual, occupational), our wellness programs provide the opportunity and framework to reflect on your wellbeing, establish and achieve goals, and build self-awareness and skills for a fulfilling and meaningful life.
Wellness Coaching
Wellness coaching is a free service available to students, staff, and faculty by completing our interest form. Our wellness coaches create a supportive environment where you are the expert. You know what is best for you based on personal priorities and values.
Wellness coaching:
- Focuses on holistic health and wellbeing
- Centers on your strengths, interests, and personal goals
- Starts with self-reflection and goal setting
- Requires active participation and collaboration
- Mental health therapy, assessment, diagnosis, or treatment
- If you are looking for mental health support, visit the University Counseling Center.
- If you need mental health support immediately, call the 24/7 crisis line to talk with a mental health provider: (361) 825-2703

Wellness Workshops
Our vision is to build a movement of healthy habits. One of the ways we do that is through education. During these free workshops, our wellness coaches will share information, resources, and strategies for you to improve your wellbeing.

Nutrition Coaching
We believe that wellness encompasses both what you do physically as well as what goes on your plate. Work one-on-one with one of our nutrition coaches to build sustainable eating habits that fuel your lifestyle. We move beyond restrictive dieting to focus on education, habit-stacking, and finding a balance that works for your unique body and goals.
Nutrition coaching:
- Focuses on sustainable habits and fueling your body
- Centers on your lifestyle, preferences, and dietary goals
- Starts with an assessment of current habits and future needs
- Requires active participation and consistency
Nutrition coaching is not:
- Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT), clinical diagnosis, or treatment for eating disorders
- A restrictive "one-size-fits-all" diet plan
- Prescriptive medical advice
- If you are looking for dietary support, visit the University Health Center.
- If you need emergency medical support, call the 24/7 crisis line to talk with a health provider: (361) 825-2601
Personal training:
- If you are looking for personal training, visit Personal Training.
