What does non-text content mean? Typically, it refers to images, or visual content. This takes many forms:

In each example, visual content is replaced with some form of text content. Mechanisms are in place on websites and documents where alternative text can be provided. Other options like audio descriptions for video content are not inherent to video players, so a link to a document with this description is often required.
