A Three Day Seminar

Class begins at 8:00 a.m. and adjourns at 5:00 p.m. each day.

The Course

This 24 hour course is devised for HAZWOPER certified emergency responders wanting a deeper understanding of chemistry of hazardous materials including reactivity, explosivity, flammability, and the possibility of the generation of toxic vapors. The course is offered through the NSCS for professional certification, or through TAMU-CC for registered academic students wanting college credit. This class is intended for emergency responders who may encounter chemical hazards but are not chemistry majors. Chemistry and HAZWOPER course experience is not required for this course, however, attendees may want to complete HAZWOPER training prior to taking this course.

Upon successful completion of the course, each student will receive a Certificate of Satisfactory Completion from the National Spill Control School, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.
