Getting Started

The Human Resources (HR) onboarding process includes several tasks you must complete before the semester begins. Many of these can be taken care of during New Employee Orientation.

 New Employee Orientation.

Your IslandID and password are required to access most University resources. These credentials are issued during the hiring process, and you will receive an email with instructions to claim your account 24–48 hours after completing HR onboarding. Once you receive the email from My IslandID, follow the link below and select “New User?” to claim your account. Please allow 30 minutes after completing the claim process before attempting to log in, to avoid account lockouts.

Note: Faculty and staff lose access to their IslandID and Office 365 (including email) on their separation date from the University.

Claim your IslandID

When you log in to your TAMU-CC workstation for the first time, we recommend opening Microsoft Outlook to set up your University email. This email account serves as the primary communication channel for University business and campus announcements.

Islander Email

The Single Sign-On (SSO) portal provides access to Human Resources programs such as payroll and leave information.

• As a new employee, you will first set up your account using your UIN, which is provided by the Human Resources Office.

• Once your IslandID is created, use it to sign into the SSO portal for ongoing access.

• If you separate from the University, your login will revert to using your UIN to access former employee data.

Single Sign-On

Use your IslandID and password to connect to the Islander_Admin wireless network. If you are currently connected to Islander_Student, please switch to Islander_Admin.

Note: To avoid account lockouts, be sure to select “Forget Network” in your mobile device’s wireless settings before reconnecting with your IslandID and password.

Wireless Network Access

About 30 minutes after claiming your IslandID, you’ll have full access to the Service Portal. At serviceportal.tamucc.edu, you can submit IT help tickets, request services, browse knowledge articles, and stay informed about upcoming maintenance and outages.
