Welcome and congratulations, new Islanders! You have just been accepted to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, but what now? Follow these simple steps to ensure a successful start to your time as an Islander.
Your A-Number, issued by the Registrar’s Office, is used to access university systems and services. To find it, go to MyIslandID.tamucc.edu and click “Forgot Student ID (A#)?”
An IslandID and password are required to access most University resources. Students receive these credentials after being accepted to the University. Within 24–48 hours of acceptance, you’ll receive an email from My IslandID with instructions to claim your account. Follow the link in the email, select "New User?", and complete the setup. Please wait 30 minutes before logging in to avoid being locked out.
Thirty minutes after claiming your IslandID account, confirm that you can log into your University email. This account is the primary channel for official University communications, including messages from the Business Office, Financial Aid, Housing, and Orientation.
Important: Your IslandID, University email, and Office 365 access remain active for one year (365 days) after your last date of attendance. Retrieve any files stored in Office 365 before this period ends. Avoid using your student email for personal accounts or subscriptions, as it will only remain active while you are enrolled and for 365 days after you leave TAMU-CC.
About 30 minutes after claiming your IslandID, log in to your S.A.I.L. account. Select “Current Student Login” and sign in using your IslandID and password. S.A.I.L. is the secure student portal for accessing your academic, financial aid, and other student records at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi. To avoid being locked out, always sign out of S.A.I.L. before closing your browser.
You will use your IslandID and password to connect to the Islander_Student wireless network.
Note: If you reset your password, you must “forget” the network on your device and reconnect using your new credentials.
New students must be registered for classes to access Canvas. Logins will be enabled the week before the first day of classes. All registered courses open at that time unless the instructor specifies otherwise.
