CAHSI-Sponsored Hackathons

Texas A&M University –Corpus Christi (TAMUCC) and the University of Houston –Downtown have worked with the Computing Alliance of Hispanic-Serving Institutions (CAHSI) for the past 15 years to host two Hackathons for students in the South Texas area.

December 2020 South Texas Hackathon:
- Date: December 18th, 2020.
- TAMUCC students/ 24 participants total (UHD, UH, UHV,UTRGV):
  - 1^st Place: TAMUCC students –Raj Bhakta, Omar Lozoya, Michael Maiella.
  - 2^nd Place: TAMUCC students –Taylor Converse, Tristan Raine, Gibran Rodriguez, Joseph Rangel.
  - 3^rd Place: TAMUCC students–Braydon Burns, Jaron Burns, Minh Tri Nguyen, Christian Leal.

April 2021 South Texas Hackathon:
Date: April 10th, 2021.

CAHSI-funded Student Travel to Hackathons.

Texas A&M University –Corpus Christi (TAMUCC) has worked with the Computing Alliance of Hispanic-Serving Institutions (CAHSI) for the past 15 years to support students in the Computer Science field. In order to provide the students with important experience outside of the classroom, we have sent them to a conference where they had the opportunity to compete in a Hackathon.

2018: Hispanic Engineer National Achievement Awards Conference (HENAAC) and Hackathon.
