Graduation is the act of completing the requirements and receiving a degree in a student’s chosen program. Commencement is the ceremony celebrating students who are graduating.

Eligible students can apply for graduation on S.A.I.L. Students should log on to their S.A.I.L. account and go to Student → Student Records → Apply to Graduate. For graduation application deadlines, please click here.

Yes, graduates are required to apply for graduation in order to receive their degree. Graduates are not required to attend the commencement ceremony. If the graduate has met all degree requirements, the degree will be conferred after all degree clearance has been completed.

Yes, graduates who would like to participate in the commencement ceremony must complete and submit the RSVP form by the deadline. If you do not RSVP, you will not be able to participate. For more information about deadlines and other important dates, please view the Important Dates page here.

Commencement RSVPs will be emailed to all graduates who apply for graduation by the RSVP deadline. The link will sent to their Islander email. Please check your spam folder and junk mail in case it landed there. If you did not receive the link to RSVP, please email commencement@tamucc.edu.

Graduates will receive a confirmation email when they RSVP. Please check your spam or junk folder in case the confirmation email went there. In addition, graduates will receive an email several weeks prior to commencement with specific ceremony details. If graduates want to double-check that they have RSVP’d, they can email commencement@tamucc.edu.

Graduates can make changes to their RSVP by emailing the Commencement Team at commencement@tamucc.edu.

Graduates are not required to attend the commencement ceremony. However, it is strongly encouraged that they attend and be recognized for their accomplishments. If the graduate has met all requirements to graduate, the degree will be conferred after all degree clearance has been completed by the advisor.

TAMU-CC Commencement ceremonies will be general admission, and guests will not need tickets to enter the ceremony. There is no guest limit per graduate; however, please note that guest seating is available in the arena on a first come, first served basis. Arena doors will open one hour prior to the ceremony.

Graduates that need disability accommodations should indicate in the RSVP form. Additional information will be provided to the graduate after the RSVP deadline. There will be a seating area reserved for guests with ADA needs. Please have the guest(s) find an American Bank Center staff member to direct them to the ADA section. Each ADA guest will be permitted 1 additional guest to accompany them.

We are excited to share the experience of commencement with everyone. If someone is not able to attend, they can watch the ceremony live on the TAMU-CC commencement website here.

For more information about diploma availability, please view the Important Dates page here. Diplomas are typically mailed 4-6 weeks after commencement. Graduates will not receive official diplomas at the commencement ceremony. All degrees must be cleared and conferred prior to diplomas being mailed out.

Graduates will receive an email when diplomas are available to be picked up. Diplomas that are not picked up during the designated pick-up period will be automatically mailed to the graduate’s permanent address listed on S.A.I.L. Graduates are encouraged to check their S.A.I.L. account and make sure their address is up to date. Graduates are also responsible for checking any academic holds on their S.A.I.L. account. Graduates can order a duplicate diploma here.
