First-Year Student Success Program

The First-Year Student Success Program at TAMU-CC provides first-year students with the resources, support, and connections they need to successfully transition to college. Through University Seminar (USSE), the First-Year Peer Mentor Program, first-year programming, and campus partnerships, we foster student engagement, academic success, and a strong sense of belonging while preparing students for lifelong learning and career success.

First-Year Peer Mentors

First-Year Symposium (FYS) is a two-day event held at the end of the fall semester that involves all 2,000+ first-year students. Students work in small groups or individually to present posters based on the work in their University Seminar class.
