About Us

College Access and Outreach is an initiative of the Office of Student Success that includes the Department of Education, Greater Texas Foundation, and State funded grants, along with other University programs and services that provide access and opportunity to make student success equitable for all Islanders.  

The College Access and Outreach Unit is dedicated to providing high-quality services and opportunities to students here at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, in the local community and beyond.  

Mission 

The mission of the College Access and Outreach Unit is to increase college readiness, access, retention, and completion rates among traditionally underserved populations. The unit aims to foster a sense of belonging and a college-going culture by providing comprehensive support, information, and resources to students and families. 

Vision 

  • To promote college awareness and readiness through targeted outreach initiatives.  
  • Provide targeted support and resources to help underrepresented students and their families navigate the college application and enrollment process, financial aid, academic success and personal growth.  
  • Develop strong partnerships and collaborate with university partners, local schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to enhance outreach and college access efforts.  
  • To continuously evaluate and assess the effectiveness of programs and services offered by the unit.  
  • Increase the number of underrepresented students from local and surrounding communities attending and graduating from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.  
  • Identify and assess new service opportunities to provide new or additional support to students.
