BioWaves Innovation Camp: Where Ecology Meets Technology

Total Cost (per individual) = $150

• The $150 includes all materials, activities, field trip and daily lunch

Sizes will be collected at registration

• One T-shirt per camper, please specify if your camper needs a youth or adult-sized shirt.

There is no charge to be added to a waiting list. If there is a cancellation made, we will contact the next participant on the waiting list. Parents will receive a courtesy call if no response has been received before moving onto the next participant.

• Parents, please list the best email addresses and phone numbers to get in contact with you.

There is a $50 non-refundable fee for registering your camper. The $50 is deducted from the total camp balance. This fee is non-refundable. A payment of $100 may be refunded or applied to another camp period up to 30 days prior to the start of the camp by contacting the Center for Coastal Studies office to confirm the change of camps or cancellation. After the 30-day deadline no refund will be given.

• Check-in: Campers must be signed in by an adult (18 years or older), No camper can sign him/herself in.
• Pick-Up: Campers must be signed out by an adult (18 years or older), No camper can sign him/herself out.
• Closing Ceremonies: Parents and family members are always welcome to attend this ceremony! We will give the exact time on the final day of camp at check-in.

BioWaves Instructors are experienced Center for Coastal Studies Research Technicians and Graduate Students.

Rules & Discipline:

• There is a ZERO tolerance policy for all weapons, alcohol, drugs or tobacco and vapor products (vapes, e-cigs, etc.).
• All participants are expected to follow all TAMUCC campus rules and regulations. This includes all instructions given from camp instructors.
  • Parents will be contacted immediately if any rules are broken.
• All participants are expected to respect university (TAMUCC) property and facilities.
  • Parents will be contacted and billed for any damages.
• Participants will be sent home and not allowed back to camp for any behavior that is unacceptable to camp staff.
• Inappropriate activities such as physical, verbal, or sexual misconduct are not tolerated during camp. These activities should not be directed towards any participant (other campers, volunteers, staff, faculty, college students).
• Specific guidelines will be given to campers during the first day introduction.
• Parents WILL NOT RECEIVE A REFUND if their participant is sent home.

Participants sent home for any reason during the camp will not be allowed to return to camp or a future camp for one summer period. A recommendation letter written by a principal must be provided if they wish to return to a future camp.

• Summer clothing (shorts, breathable shirt, hat/caps, sunglasses)
• Large water bottles (reusable if possible)
• Old/inexpensive pair of lace up sneakers that can get wet/dirty
• Insect repellent
• Sunscreen
• Change of shoes and clothing (for after activities (optional))
• Towel (optional)
• Snacks (optional)
