Science, Mathematics and Technology Education

Texas Examinations of Educators Standards (TExES) Approval

Approval for a TAMUCC student to take the TExES content exam for 4-8 or 8-12 mathematics or science is given by the appropriate content faculty member. Those faculty are:

Mathematics 4-8: Elaine Young
Mathematics 8-12: Elaine Young
Life Science 8-12: Cherie McCollough
Science 8-12: Cherie McCollough
Physical Science 8-12: Philippe Tissot
Science 4-8: Philippe Tissot

All requests are made online through the University TAR system (see the link below). Prior to making the online request, please take transcripts to the appropriate content faculty member and be prepared to take a practice exam based on the exam framework as found in the preparation manuals (see below).
