What is WIOA?

WIOA stands for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.  WIOA is designed to help you get the skills you need to work in a high-demand career field by providing you with the funding for training.  You just need to know how to access this funding, and we can help.

Who qualifies for WIOA funding?

The WIOA federal grant is designed to cover training expenses for people who have been laid off or whose household income is at or below a certain level.  This funding is waiting for you if you are:

  • A job seeker
  • Recently laid off
  • An older youth
  • An incumbent worker
  • New to the workforce
  • A veteran
  • Disabled

What do I have to do to get approved?

The process of being approved and enrolling in a course can take several weeks, so it's important to determine your eligibility and find a course that is approved for the funding.  This is where we come in.  Speak with an enrollment advisor to find out how to locate and schedule an appointment at your local Career Center.  Fill out the form above, and we'll help you get started today!

Funding Opportunities

Disabilities Services (Education division) 

National Disaster Dislocated Worker Grant. Provides funding to create temporary employment opportunities to assist with clean-up and recovery efforts, when an area impacted by disaster is declared eligible for public assistance by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) or otherwise recognized by a Federal agency with authority or jurisdiction over Federal response to the emergency or disaster. 

Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA).  Helps get you back to work after a trade related layoff.

Vocational Rehabilitation Services (TWS-VRS).  Schedule an appointment to apply for services or determine what documents you may need.

Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).  Through WIOA, we are able to provide training services for adults, dislocated workers and youth.  We want our community to acquire the skills and credentials needed to succeed in our local labor market.  There are two core programs: (I) Title I guidelines for Adult, dislocated worker, and youth programs, and (II) Vocational Rehabilitation program under Title IV
