Curriculum Information Management
MEMORANDUM
TO: Islander Faculty
SUBJECT: Curriculum Information Management
Dear Colleagues,
As we look forward to another great semester, we are pleased to announce that Academic Affairs, PAIRS, and IT are collaborating to adopt CourseLeaf’s Curriculum Information Management (CIM) module. CIM takes the entire curriculum process online and integrates with the CourseLeaf Catalog software (CAT) to provide a comprehensive curriculum and catalog management product.
Earlier this year we implemented the CAT module to replace Acalog. With the implementation of CIM (replacing Curriculog) in February 2022, we will have an integrated, web-based system that will provide faculty and staff with more efficient, accurate, and accessible management to the curriculum process. This exciting change will lead to greater consistency of curriculum information for our catalog and across downstream applications such as Degree-Works and Banner.
The use of CourseLeaf products will facilitate the means to electronically administer the submission, routing and approval of curriculum proposals, and apply updates from one platform to all systems that use curriculum data. CourseLeaf is an example of how we continue to strengthen systems, enhance digital technology maturity, and adhere to best practice standards across TAMU-CC.
A collaborative team from TAMU-CC, along with partners from CourseLeaf, have begun defining the Course and Program forms, and construction of the solution will begin shortly. We plan to launch CIM in February 2022 in time for the 2023 – 2024 catalog cycle.
Over the next few months, you will receive relevant updates and information about CIM and the implementation process. Thank you,
