Complaint Resolution
The University is committed to investigating and resolving complaints as efficiently and effectively as possible. We believe providing a mechanism for complaints to be heard gives us the opportunity to improve our service.
Complaint Resolution: If you're not sure how to proceed, you've tried and failed to resolve an issue informally, or your complaint is more general in nature, we encourage you to use this confidential on-line system to obtain help: Complaint Resolution Form, Employee Development & Compliance Services Department (361) 825-5826, employee.relations@tamucc.edu.
The Faculty Ombuds listens to and informally addresses faculty concerns. The University also has established rules and procedures for reporting and resolving grade appeals, faculty and non-faculty grievances, student grievances, sexual harassment and research misconduct. You can access information about these rules and procedures at: Compendium of Policies, Rules and Regulations
The Texas A&M University System also maintains an on-line system for anonymously reporting waste, fraud, abuse or other serious ethics violations. It is available at: www.ethicspoint.com or by calling 888-501-3850.
Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) complaint process:
After exhausting the institution’s grievance/complaint process, current, former, and prospective students may initiate a complaint with THECB by sending the required forms either by electronic mail StudentComplaints@thecb.state.tx.us, or by mail to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, Office of General Counsel, P.O. Box 12788, Austin, Texas 78711-2788. Facsimile transmissions of the forms are not accepted.
State Auditor Waste Fraud and Abuse reporting: The State Auditor's Office (SAO) investigates allegations of fraud, waste, or abuse relating to state funds associated with state agencies and institutions of higher education. SAO encourages complaint in writing, providing as much detail as possible. Persons who report fraud may choose to remain anonymous. Complaint information/methods are available at: https://sao.fraud.texas.gov/.
University Police Department: To report immediate threats to life or property or if you require
emergency assistance, please call (361) 825-4444.
