Matthew Sutton is the Chief Pilot for the Lone Star UAS Center of Excellence. The Chief Pilot establishes and maintains the standardization program for the company and advises customers on their standardization program. Matthew is an Embry-Riddle Graduate and has had 16 years of aviation experience.

Matthew’s aviation career started in 2005, at the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence, when he pinned on the rank of WO1 and learned to fly the TH-67 Super Creek and the OH-58D. After graduation from flight school, Matthew joined the ranks of an operational unit and deployed to Iraq. During his 4th deployment, Matthew was DA assigned to an Infantry Brigade as the TACOPS Officer for a Brigade Aviation Element and had the additional duty as the Master Trainer for small UAS. After his 4th deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan, Matthew went back to the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence for the fixed wing transition. Matthew deployed once more for a 5th time to Afghanistan. He left the Army in 2016 and join the ranks of L3Harris as a government contract pilot. He rose through the ranks in the company in less than 2 years from Pilot in Command to Instructor Pilot to Lead Pilot. He was the Lead Pilot for a Site in a major theater of operations for 2 ½ years prior to joining the LSUASC team.
