Preparing Your Computer for Blackboard
Ensure your PC or MAC computer can fully use Blackboard's functionality by taking the following steps.
NOTE: You may not experience any technical issues without making the recommended preparations below. However, these tips will provide for optimal Blackboard performance and are highly recommended. DLAI recommends Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.
- Ensure your operating system and web browsers are compatible with the Blackboard platform and up to date.

- Run the browser check tool to see if your current browser is supported
- Important note about operating systems: Some features on Blackboard and other education technologies may not fully work with ChromeOS (found on Chromebook computers).
- Allow pop-ups in your browser or turn off your pop-up blockers
Ensure pop-ups are allowed within your browser as some Blackboard tools utilize pop-ups. Use the appropriate link below for information on configuring pop-ups in the browser.- Manage pop-ups in Mozilla Firefox

- Manage pop-ups in Microsoft Edge
- On the Microsoft Edge browser window, click the Settings and more (...) button
- Select: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Pop-ups and redirects
- Disable pop-up blocking, or add the URL for the site you want to allow pop-ups for
- Close tab

- Configure your cookies
Configure your web browser to allow cookies from Blackboard before logging in. Visit the Manage Blackboard's cookie permissions site for information on how Blackboard uses cookies as well as instructions for allowing cookies in your browser.,
