Pillar 4: Collaborate

We will work together across all divisions in order to provide a progressively more inclusive environment through governance and policy.

Provost Initiative

The Provosts across The Texas A&M University System gathered teams to attend the Chancellor’s Symposium on Accessibility in June 2019. These teams are helping survey the progress and challenges facing each institution and come up with initiatives to bring back and discuss. TAMU-CC’s team will assist in reporting and providing ideas to TAMU-CC, across all appropriate councils, committees, and other groups as appropriate until the initiative is complete.

Electronic and Information Resources Accessibility (EIRA) Committee

The EIRA Committee shall be a part of the IT governance structure, reporting to the University Technology Council (UTC). The EIRAC will chair the EIRA Committee, which shall

  1. view the University’s policies, processes, and practices regarding the accessibility of electronic and information resources, and
  2. to ensure that those policies, processes, and practices
    • comply with federal, state, local, and system laws and regulations and
    • adequately support the University’s disabled population.

Members of the EIRA Committee will come from across the university in order to address digital accessibility in across areas affected.
