H1B Validity

Initially, the petitioner (TAMUCC) may request the H1B status for a period of up to three years of employment, and may extend the status for a period of up to six (6) years. This is not to be interpreted as six years per employer. For example, the employee worked as an H1B for Employer A for two years, the total number of years that s/he may work for Employer B is four years.
