2022

The 26th Annual Awards Celebration was held on May 6th, 2022. 

  • This year, 173 employees were recognized for their many years of service.  
  • Faculty Excellence Awards were presented to the following winners

    •  Excellence in Teaching Award - Dr. Sandrine Sanos

    • Excellence in Teaching Innovation Award - Dr. Heather DeGrande

    • Excellence in Research and Scholarly Activity Award - Dr. Katherine Taken Smith
  • Staff Excellence Awards were presented to the following winners

    • Islander Leadership - Lieutenant George Herrera 

    • Islander Inclusion - Elvia Aguilar 

    • Islander Impact - Leisha Martin 

  • The Interdivisional Collaboration Award for Excellence this year goes to Islander Beach Bash.
This year's winning team consisted of the largest collaboration we have seen submitted for this award. Representatives from the following departments came together to establish a new signature welcome event for the islander community.
