HR Contact's Quick Guide to Success
Before the first day
- Assist employee as needed with completing onboarding tasks in Workday.
- Discuss with the employee when to expect the first paycheck.
- Give employee information on where to park for the first day.
- Request access to required systems needed by the employee (i.e. Banner, phone number)
- Request building access and keys.
- Prepare office space and stock with supplies.
- Ensure desktop is ready for new user.
Note: You will likely coordinate the above activities with the Hiring Manager.
The first day
- Personally welcome the new employee to the department.
- Assist employee as needed with completing all tasks in Workday.
- Ensure employee knows his/her UIN.
- Ensure employee has obtained a university email.
- Confirm SandDollar obtained.
- Provide copier access code.
- Provide long distance pin.
The first week
- Schedule employee for a division or department-specific orientation, if applicable.
- Process relocation reimbursement, as applicable.
- Provide Procurement and Travel credit card applications
