ABOUT THE COMPETITION:

Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a competition celebrating the research of graduate students while promoting and improving skills in students’ presentation, academic, and research communication. Developed by The University of Queensland (UQ), the competition encourages the students’ capacity to effectively explain their research in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. 

The competition at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi was held in person on Thursday, April 6th, 2023

Spring 2023 3MT® Student Winners

1st Place: Charlotte Lee, Doctoral Student - Marine Biology
Presentation Title: Zooplankton and particle interactions in ocean twilight zone: a low-oxygen scenario

2nd Place: Ramadan Abdelrehim, Doctoral Student - Coastal Marine System Science
Presentation Title: Controls of subsurface Geology on the response of Barrier Islands to Flooding and Hurricanes

3rd Place: Abhishek Phadke, Doctoral Student - Geospatial Computer Science
Presentation Title: Drone2Drone (D2D): A Search and Rescue framework module for finding lost UAV swarm agents (Resilient Operations of UAV Swarms)
