The Resident Assistant position is a premier student employment opportunity on the Island! Our RAs are student staff members who play an essential role in residential community development and Islander Housing operations. Being a RA is a great opportunity to develop and practice critical skills that include community engagement and support, communication, problem solving, event planning, facilities management, and more.
Resident Assistant Recruitment

Compensation/ Benefits
- On-Campus Housing: Live right where the action is! You’ll have the convenience of living close to everything you need on campus. Additionally, your room costs will be covered!
- Meal Plan Benefits:
- Miramar Residents: Receive Wave 110 Meal Membership.
- Momentum Village Residents: Choose between $800 Dining Dollars or the Wave 110 Meal Membership.
- $1000 Stipend: First-year RA's will also receive a $1000 stipend for the year, paid monthly ($100 per month). This stipend will grow every year that you remain an RA, so make plans now to drop your anchor and stay with us for a while!
Eligibility
- The desire to become a student leader on campus and positively affect the residential experience of Islanders
- Maintain a TAMU-CC minimum 2.5 GPA
- Must live on-site at either Miramar or Momentum Village while employed as an RA
- Be in good standing with the university (Student Conduct)
- Successfully pass a standardized background test
What is Expected of a Resident Assistant?
The Resident Assistant (RA) is a member of the Department of Islander Housing. The Residence Life staff's goals include building welcoming communities that focus on learning, leadership and meaningful relationships through the development of our students and staff. Islander Housing Staff are committed to promoting holistic student success by providing excellent on-campus housing experience, impactful student engagement, and developmental student support. RAs help create these welcoming communities through individualized engagements, intentional programming, and prioritizing safety for residents.
