The schedule below highlights some of our featured events. Additional activities, tours, performances, academic open houses, and special programs will continue to be added throughout the summer. Check back often for updates! 

Friday, October 2 

Family Weekend Check-In: 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. 
Location: University Center, Anchor Ballroom AB

Receive your welcome bag, event materials, wristband, and everything you'll need to make the most of Family Weekend. 

Island Quest Family Challenge 4:00 p.m. - All Weekend

Gather your family and complete fun missions across campus for a chance to win great prizes!  

Under Island Skies: Movie Night Under the Stars 6:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
LOCATION CHANGE: Performing Arts Center
Kick off Family Weekend with a movie in our Performing Arts Center! Refreshments will be available at 6:30 p.m., with Toy Story 5 beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Downtown ArtWalk  - Rescheduled to the weekend of October 9th

Saturday, October 3 

Family Weekend Check-In: 8:00 a.m. to Noon
Location: University Center, Anchor Prefunction
Receive your materials, wristband, and everything you'll need to make the most of Family Weekend. 

American Heart Walk 8:00 a.m.
Location: Whataburger Field, 734 E. Port Ave.
Join the TAMU-CC community in supporting the American Heart Association during the American Heart Walk. Family Weekend participants are invited to walk alongside fellow Islanders and members of the Coastal Bend community to promote heart health and support lifesaving research. Families are welcome to join the official TAMU-CC Family Weekend Team as part of this meaningful community event. 

Donut Stress: Let's Talk Career Dreams 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Location: Career Corner, University Center, Room 108
Join the Career Center crew for sweet treats and discover how students can turn their dreams into careers — from choosing a major and creating standout resumes to landing internships and full-time jobs. Stop by, grab a bite, and learn how we help make career goals a reality!

Dugan Wellness Center Open House 9:00 a.m. to Noon
Location: Dugan Wellness Center
Experience the Dugan Wellness Center, where fitness, recreation, and wellness come together to support student success. Families are invited to tour the facility, explore its amenities, and learn about the programs that help Islanders maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. 
- Weight room equipment (18 years or older) and massage chairs

Come meet our spirited mascot, Izzy the Islander! Families and students are invited to snap a photo, share a high-five, and create lasting Islander memories throughout the day. 

Atmospheric Science Lab Tours - 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m.
Location: Science Lab 1
Get a behind-the-scenes look at the instruments and technology used by our Atmospheric Science program for teaching, weather observations, and student research. Visitors can explore hands-on demonstrations, see lab instruments and take home a 3D-printed weather-themed item while supplies last. (No food or drinks permitted. Limited spots available.)

Studio Tours - 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m.
Location: Center for the Arts, 1st Floor Lobby
Tour the studios in Center for the Arts. The studio tours consist of Foundations (Drawing and Design), Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture, and Ceramics.

Geochemistry Lab Tours - 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Location: Natural Resources Center, 3rd Floor
Step inside the Geochemistry Lab and discover how science helps us better understand the world around
us! Explore specialized instruments used to analyze environmental samples and learn how faculty and students contribute to biological, geological, and environmental research in South Texas and beyond. (No food or drinks permitted.)

Our Island History - 10:00 - 11:15 a.m.
Location: Mary and Jeff Bell Library, 2nd Floor
Discover the history of our university. Dr. Paul Orser and Dr. Andrew Johnson will offer insight into the history of TAMU-CC. Learn about the Island University through the years and how we became the #1 College by the Sea. 

Islander Voices +1 Open Rehearsal - 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Location: Warren Theatre, Center for the Arts
The Department of Music invites families to observe an open ensemble rehearsal, where student musicians collaborate, refine their sound, and bring pieces to life under the guidance of faculty.

Student Film Showcase - 10:00 a.m. to Noon
Location: Bay Hall, Room 235
Learn about the creative process and connect with the next generation of media makers during a dynamic showcase of student work from the Media Arts program.

Measurement Analytics Lab Tour (MANTIS) - 10:00 a.m. to Noon
Tours last every 30 minutes; Last tour starts at 11:30 a.m.
Location: Natural Resource Center, Room 3412
The Measurement Analytics Lab explores the merging of geomatics, remote sensing, and geospatial computing to aid scientific and engineering decision-making. During the tour, attendees will view 3D fly-through videos from drone missions and explore surveying drones, laser scanners, and other remote sensing and geospatial technologies.

Record Your Family History! - 10:00 a.m. to Noon
Location: Mary and Jeff Bell Library, Gloria Furgason I-Create Makerspace
Record your Islander experience in the library’s One Button Studios, where I-Create Lab staff will record stories of your journey through college. Capture special memories and share your family history!

Beyond the Classroom: Conversations with Science Leadership - 10:00 a.m. to Noon
Location: University Center, Oso Room
Connect with College of Science leadership and learn more about academics, research, and the student experience. Hear from Department Chairs from 10:00-11:00 a.m., followed by the Dean and Associate Deans at 11:00 a.m.

College of Nursing and Health Sciences: Open House - 10:00 a.m. to Noon
Location: Island Hall, 2nd Floor
Join us in the Simulation and Clinical Learning Center for an interactive tour of our state of the art facilities.

Treasures & Treats at Your Library! - 10:00 a.m. to Noon
Location: Mary and Jeff Bell Library
Dive into your library with Plinko, popsicles, and good vibes all around! Meet your library staff, play Plinko for prizes, do the library BINGO challenge, and discover the amazing resources and support waiting for you at the Bell Library.

Lab Crawler Carl Linnaeus - 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Location: Tidal Hall, 1st Floor Lobby
Explore Tidal Hall and the Department of Life Sciences in this Dungeon Crawler Carl themed event. You’ll have the opportunity to tour teaching laboratories, learn about current research being conducted at Tidal Hall, and find opportunities to work in research labs to enhance your learning experience on the Island.

Kinesiology Lab Facility Tours - 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Location: Island Hall, Room 139
Kinesiology faculty will conduct tours of kinesiology facilities and labs in Island Hall, highlighting the diverse capabilities and talents of the Kinesiology Department.

Physical & Environmental Sciences: Explore Our Changing World - 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Location: University Center, Rotunda
Explore the world around us with physical and environmental sciences! Families are invited to stop by for interactive activities and learn how students and faculty study our planet, environment, and the forces that shape our changing world.

Family Weekend Marketplace 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. 
Location: University Center, Anchor Ballroom AB
Shop local and celebrate Islander spirit at the Family Weekend Marketplace! Featuring a variety of Islander-themed merchandise, handcrafted goods, apparel, gifts, and specialty items, this marketplace showcases both local Coastal Bend businesses and vendors offering unique TAMU-CC-inspired products. 

Oso Bay Biennial XXIV: Soy de Tejas, curated by Rigoberto Luna - 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location: Weil Gallery, Center for the Arts, Room 101
Soy de Tejas (I Am From Texas) celebrates the vibrant voices of contemporary Texas Latinx artists exploring identity, place, and Chicanx experience. This nationally significant exhibition showcases artists who are shaping conversations about culture, belonging, and what it means to be Texan.

Business Internships 101: Real World Ready - 10:30 a.m. to Noon
Location: O'Connor Building Room 135
Discover how students can connect with employers, gain hands-on experience, and get ahead before graduation. Whether you’re a parent looking to support your student’s journey or a student ready to take the next step, this is your chance to learn more. Snacks and future opportunities await! 

Islander Family Lunch 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Join us at your designated time for the Islander Family Lunch. Enjoy a delicious meal while spending quality time with your Islander student and connecting with fellow Islander families. It’s the perfect opportunity to relax and recharge before continuing your Family Weekend adventures.

Izzy's Spirit Rally Noon - 12:30 p.m.
Location: University Center Rotunda
Show your Islander spirit before the Women's Volleyball match! Join fellow families and students for music, appearances by Izzy and the Islander Spirit Teams, and plenty of blue and green pride before heading to the game together. 

Tour Theatre and Music Spaces - Noon to 1:00 p.m.
Location: Center for the Arts, 1st Floor Lobby
Tour the Center for the Arts and learn more about the theatre and music spaces used by TAMU-CC students for performances, rehearsals, and creative learning.

Islander Women's Volleyball 1:00 p.m.
Location: Dugan Wellness Center, Dugan Gym
Cheer on the Islanders as TAMU-CC Women's Volleyball takes on the University of the Incarnate Word Cardinals in an exciting Southland Conference matchup at the Dugan Wellness Center. (Advanced ticket purchase required) 

Islander Fam Fest 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Location: University Center Rotunda & Tejas Lounge
Bring the whole family for an afternoon of fun at Islander Fam Fest! Enjoy games, bingo, crafts, prizes, and interactive activities. It's the perfect way to connect, play, and celebrate Family Weekend together. 

Chemistry & Biochemistry: The Reaction Station - 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Location: University Center, Tejas Lounge
Stop by the Reaction Station and discover the fun of chemistry! Families can connect with chemistry and biochemistry while exploring hands-on activities and learning how science comes to life.

Count on Fun: A Math & Statistics Kids Table - 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Location: University Center, Tejas Lounge
Math adds up to fun at this family-friendly table! Enjoy hands-on games and activities while exploring numbers, patterns, problem-solving, and the fun side of math and statistics.

The iSee Experience: STEM, Support & Success - 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Location: University Center, Tejas Lounge
Stop by during Fam Fest! Explore hands-on STEM activities for the whole family and learn how the Islander Office of Student Excellence (iSEE) supports students through programs, resources, and opportunities designed to help them succeed.

Flavors of the Island Dining Experience (Optional) 5:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m
Location: Dining Hall
Join us for Flavors of the Island, a special dining experience featuring some of the most popular meals and campus favorites enjoyed by TAMU-CC students throughout the year. Families and students are invited to dine together, explore campus dining, and sample a variety of Islander-approved favorites. (Advanced ticket purchase required). 

Dracula: A Feminist Revenge Fantasy, Really  (Optional) 7:30 p.m.
Location: Wilson Theatre, Center for the Arts
When your survival is at stake…will you be able to distinguish the monster from the man? Both terrifying and riotous, Kate Hamill’s imaginative, gender-bending “feminist revenge fantasy” is like no Dracula you’ve ever seen. (Advanced ticket purchase required). 

IBC Bank Mariachi Festival - 6:00 - 10:00 p.m.
Location: IBC Bank, Downtown Corpus Christi, 221 S. Shoreline Blvd
Islander Family Weekend attendees are invited to attend an unforgettable evening of music and culture at the IBC Bank Mariachi Festival benefiting Driscoll Children’s Hospital. The event is free and open to the public. Bring your chair to enjoy music, a mercado, and food trucks.

Sunday, October 4 

Islander Family Brunch (Optional) 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m
Wrap up Family Weekend by enjoying brunch with your Islander in the Islander Dining Hall. Share one last meal together before heading home while enjoying a selection of campus favorites. (Advanced ticket purchase required).
