Family Weekend 2026 Schedule

The schedule below highlights some of our featured events. Additional activities, tours, performances, academic open houses, and special programs will continue to be added throughout the summer. Check back often for updates! 

Friday, October 2 

Family Weekend Check-In: 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. 

Receive your welcome bag, event materials, wristband, and everything you'll need to make the most of Family Weekend. 

Island Quest Family Challenge 4:00 p.m. - All Weekend

Gather your family and complete fun missions across campus for a chance to win great prizes!  

Under Island Skies: Movie Night Under the Stars 6:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Kick off Family Weekend with a relaxing evening under the stars! Bring a beach chair or blanket, enjoy complimentary s'mores, listen to music, and watch a family-friendly outdoor movie. It's the perfect way to unwind after your travels and begin making lasting memories with your Islander. 

Downtown ArtWalk 6:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

Spend the evening exploring downtown Corpus Christi's vibrant ArtWalk featuring local artists, galleries, live entertainment, and more. 

Saturday, October 3 

Family Weekend Check-In: 8:00 a.m. to Noon

Receive your welcome bag, event materials, wristband, and everything you'll need to make the most of Family Weekend. 

American Heart Walk 8:00 a.m.
Join the TAMU-CC community in supporting the American Heart Association during the American Heart Walk. Family Weekend participants are invited to walk alongside fellow Islanders and members of the Coastal Bend community to promote heart health and support lifesaving research. Families are welcome to join the official TAMU-CC Family Weekend Team as part of this meaningful community event. 

Dugan Wellness Center Open House 9:00 a.m. to Noon
Experience the Dugan Wellness Center, where fitness, recreation, and wellness come together to support student success. Families are invited to tour the facility, explore its amenities, and learn about the programs that help Islanders maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. Opportunities for Family Weekend guests to enjoy select wellness and recreation facilities will also be available. 

Academic Experiences Across Campus 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (multiple tours)
Discover the many opportunities available at TAMU-CC through a variety of academic experiences across campus. Explore student research, science and engineering labs, nursing simulations, business and education showcases, art exhibits, live music performances, and more. Meet faculty, staff, and students while experiencing innovative teaching, research, creativity, and hands-on learning that define the Island University. Specific academic events and experiences will be announced throughout the summer. 

• Weekend Highlight: Oso Bay Biennial XXIV: Soy de Tejas: Soy de Tejas (I Am From Texas) celebrates the vibrant voices of contemporary Texas Latinx artists exploring identity, place, and Chicanx experience. This nationally significant exhibition showcases artists who are shaping conversations about culture, belonging, and what it means to be Texan. 

Family Weekend Marketplace 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. 

Shop local and celebrate Islander spirit at the Family Weekend Marketplace! Featuring a variety of Islander-themed merchandise, handcrafted goods, apparel, gifts, and specialty items, this marketplace showcases both local Coastal Bend businesses and vendors offering unique TAMU-CC-inspired products. 

Izzy Meet & Greets 9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. & 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

Come meet our spirited mascot, Izzy the Islander! Families and students are invited to snap a photo, share a high-five, and create lasting Islander memories throughout the day. 

Islander Family Lunch 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Join us at your designated time for the Islander Family Lunch. Enjoy a delicious meal while spending quality time with your Islander student and connecting with fellow Islander families. It’s the perfect opportunity to relax and recharge before continuing your Family Weekend adventures.

Izzy's Spirit Rally Noon - 12:30 p.m. 

Show your Islander spirit before the Women's Volleyball match! Join fellow families and students for music, appearances by Izzy and the Islander Spirit Teams, and plenty of blue and green pride before heading to the game together. 

Islander Women's Volleyball 1:00 p.m.

Cheer on the Islanders as TAMU-CC Women's Volleyball takes on the University of the Incarnate Word Cardinals in an exciting Southland Conference matchup at the Dugan Wellness Center. (Advanced ticket purchase required) 

Islander Fam Fest 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Bring the whole family for an afternoon of fun at Islander Fam Fest! Enjoy games, bingo, crafts, prizes, and interactive activities. It's the perfect way to connect, play, and celebrate Family Weekend together. 

Flavors of the Island Dining Experience (Optional) 5:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m

Join us for Flavors of the Island, a special dining experience featuring some of the most popular meals and campus favorites enjoyed by TAMU-CC students throughout the year. Families and students are invited to dine together, explore campus dining, and sample a variety of Islander-approved favorites. (Advanced ticket purchase required). 

Evening Theatre Performance (Optional) 7:30 p.m.

Enjoy a performance by the TAMU-CC Department of Theatre and experience the creativity and talent of Islander students.

Sunday, October 4 

Islander Family Brunch (Optional) 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m

Wrap up Family Weekend by enjoying brunch with your Islander in the Islander Dining Hall. Share one last meal together before heading home while enjoying a selection of campus favorites. (Advanced ticket purchase required).
