COMPUTER SCIENCE ADVISORY BOARD

 

Scope and Purpose

The Computer Science Advisory Board (CSAB) is comprised of voluntary industry leaders, alumni, and friends of the department. The overarching purpose of the Program Advisory Council is to help the program remain adaptive and responsive to the ever-evolving demands of the industry while playing a pivotal role in shaping the success of its students. 

Roles and Responsibilities of the CS Advisory Board

  1. CSAB serves as a crucial constituency in the review of Program Educational Objectives, aligning with the standards set by ABET accreditation guidelines
  2. CSAB offers ongoing consultation, to help the program stay current with competencies, knowledge, and skills in the discipline.
  3. CSAB plays a vital role in identifying current workforce demands, highlighting any skill gaps or areas needing attention.
  4. CSAB acts as an essential sounding board, providing diverse perspectives and ideas on issues that the department or program may bring to their attention from time to time.
  5. CSAB members attend meetings, as requested by the department chair or the program coordinators, up to 3 times a year to discuss matters of importance to the department.
