Volunteer for the Regional Science Fair
Seeking 2026 fair volunteers & judges!
About 300 volunteers are needed to put on the regional fair. Volunteers fall into two major categories:
- Judges: Judge details & qualifications
- Non-judge volunteers: check-in, safety and display, setup and teardown, attendee support, and awards.
We provide volunteers with a a certificate of volunteer credit, and judges additionally receive 3 hours of CPE credit for each judging shift completed.
Register here! We encourage you to sign up for multiple roles if they don't overlap:
- K-5 judge & volunteer registration (roles available February 13 & 14)
- Judge: Judge between 7-12 projects using a rubric provided. A training session will be held on the Wednesday before the fair. Should have some educational and/or science background.
- Registration: Check in students and their projects as they arrive to the Fair.
- Safety and display: Inspect projects just before judging. Training will be held on site
- Setup or teardown
- Chaperone: Oversee students in the exhibit hall. Chaperones are qualified school employees who register for this role through their districts using a separate form.
- 6-12 judge registration (February 13)
- Judge: 6-12 judges will meet in person at TAMU-CC to judge virtual projects. Grade 6-12 judges must have either completed college in a STEM field or have significant science knowledge, like advanced coursework and field work in science or social science.
