The University maintains two types of records: education records and directory information. Under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), education records are defined as records that are directly related to a student (such as academic and personal records relating to scholastic, disciplinary, and fiscal matters) and are maintained by an education agency or institution or by a party acting for the agency or institution.

University Police Department provides quality professional law enforcement, ensuring a safe and secure learning, and working environment, dedicated to enforcing the laws and regulations by utilizing a community policing philosophy.

Police officers are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The Center for Academic Student Achievement is committed to providing students academic support services through student-centered, supplemental, lifelong learning opportunities to help students achieve independence in learning in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Services include:

• Tutoring Services for a variety of subjects are offered by highly trained upper-level students.
• Writing Center assists writers across the University, online and on campus. We respond to the writing needs of TAMUCC writers by providing consistent, knowledgeable and flexible support. Writing Consultants provide support in planning, organization, and revision. Additionally, we offer help with the various documentation styles used in academic research and writing.
• First-Year Peer Mentors work with students throughout the semester and help guide them during the registration process, make referrals for CASA/tutoring services, campus departments, and answer student questions and concerns using their extensive first hand expertise and experience. Embedded in the First-Year Learning Community courses, the Mentors provide workshops and guidance on academic success strategies in alignment with what is taught in the classroom. The Mentors are academically successful upper-division and graduate students trained to guide first-year students using professionally recognized best practices.
• Academic Success Coaches provide students with academic success tips, Texas Success Initiative (TSI) guidance, and developmental education coursework requirements. The Academic Success Coaches can assess students' needs and help guide students with the identification of appropriate TAMUCC resources. They also assist students during regular advising periods, new student orientation, and document and track student progress throughout the semester.
• Starfish is an Undergraduate student case management system used for notifying students of their course progress and for connecting students to faculty and support services at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. The system is driven by faculty participation and completion of Course Progress Reports.
