English Proficiency Requirements

Applicants whose native language is not English must provide proof of English proficiency unless they are citizens of one of the exempt countries listed below.

Applicants from the following countries are considered English-proficient and are not required to submit English test scores:

American Samoa, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Canada (except Quebec), Cayman Islands, Dominica, Federated States of Micronesia, Gambia, Ghana, Gibraltar, Grenada, Guyana, Ireland, Jamaica, Liberia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos Islands, United Kingdom.

If you are not exempt, you may meet the English proficiency requirement by submitting one of the following:

• TOEFL iBT: Minimum 73

• TOEFL Paper-Based: Minimum 537

• TOEFL CBT: Minimum 205

• IELTS Academic: Overall band score of 6.0 (TAMU-CC does not accept IELTS General)

• Duolingo English Test: Minimum 100

• Duolingo English3: Minimum 105

• PTE Academic: Minimum 53

• ITEP: Score between 3.5–3.9 (Graduate students only)

• Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE): Minimum 175

• Cambridge C2 Proficiency (CPE): Minimum 180

• SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (EBRW): Minimum 550 (Undergraduate only)

• ACT English: Minimum 21 (Undergraduate only)

• Completion of all four years of U.S. high school and a U.S. high school diploma (Undergraduate only)

• Completion of two years of instruction (in English) at a U.S. or Canadian high school or college

• Other compelling evidence of English proficiency as reviewed by the Office of Recruitment and Admissions

The international student application fee is $75. The application fee is non-refundable. The late fee is $85.

International Transcript Evaluation Report

To obtain an international transcript evaluation report, you must submit official transcripts from all international high schools, colleges and universities attended to one of the University-approved evaluation agencies listed below (A Detailed Course by Course evaluation report is required):

Once evaluated, the agency you choose must forward their evaluation report directly to the Office of Recruitment and Admissions.

We only accept evaluation reports from the agencies listed above. Do not send your international transcripts to our University. We only require the transcript evaluation report provided by the agency.

Official U.S. College Transcripts:

• You must submit all official transcripts from all U.S. colleges and universities attended.
• An official transcript bears the original signature of a school official and/or an official school seal.

  Electronic: Official transcripts can be sent electronically using Naviance, TREx, or Parchment to admiss@tamucc.edu. We will not accept emailed PDF transcripts. 

  Postage: Official transcripts can be mailed in a sealed (unopened) envelope from your previous institution(s) to the address below:

Instructions for F-1 Students: If you are transferring to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi from another U.S. institution, you must complete this form in its entirety.

NOTE: Students who enter the U.S. on an A&M-Corpus Christi I-20 do not need to submit this form.

Application Deadlines

Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has rolling admissions, however we encourage students to meet the priority deadlines listed below.

Fall Semester - Application Late fee effective - July 1
Spring Semester - Application Late fee effective - November 1
Summer Semester- Application Late Fee effective - April 1

In addition to applying to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and submitting required documents for an admissions decision, we encourage you to be proactive and do the following. 

• Submit proof of Bacterial Meningitis vaccination (shot record) to admiss@tamucc.edu if you are under the age of 22.
• Review Islander Housing opportunities. TAMU-CC has a first-year residency requirement for student who reside outside of the Coastal Bend and are under the age of 21.
