Helping Every Islander Thrive
At Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, we believe well-being is foundational to success. Through THRIVE 365, we support a campus culture where students, faculty, and staff have access to the resources they need to thrive.
Students may face challenges that affect their academic success, mental well-being, relationships, finances, or sense of belonging. As faculty and staff, you often play an important role in recognizing when students need support and helping connect them to available resources.
Just as supporting students is essential, caring for your own well-being matters too. By prioritizing both student support and personal wellness, we strengthen a community of care where every Islander can learn, grow, and thrive.
Supporting Students
At times, you may notice a student who appears overwhelmed, under significant stress, or experiencing challenges that are affecting their well-being. Recognizing when a student may need additional support is an important first step, and even small actions can make a meaningful difference.
If you are concerned about a student and are unsure how to respond, there are practical ways you can help. Learning to recognize signs of distress and understanding how to respond can help you feel more confident when supporting students.
Supporting Yourself and Others
Supporting students starts with taking care of yourself. As a member of the Texas A&M University System community, you have access to a variety of resources designed to support your overall well-being and help you navigate life’s challenges both inside and outside of work.
There may be times when you are managing your own stress, supporting a colleague, checking in on someone you supervise, or helping a family member through a difficult situation. Knowing what resources are available can help you feel more supported and better equipped to care for yourself and others.
Your well-being matters and accessing support is an important part of maintaining a healthy and thriving campus community.
