State Employee’s Charitable Campaign

The State Employee Charitable Campaign is a statewide annual giving campaign that allows state employees to donate to nearly 1,000+ local and statewide charities which support the communities in which they live, work, volunteer and raise their families.

As Islanders, we are known for achieving goals and making an incredible Islander Impact! This year we have set the bar high with a goal of raising $30,000 for the 2025 State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC). Together we can achieve this goal and make a positive difference in the Coastal Bend Region. Please join us in donating in support of our local and statewide charities.

How It Works

Donating is easy and convenient. Simply log onto Single Sign On to explore a wide variety of local charitable organizations and then donate to your favorite charities. You can give through a monthly payroll deduction or a one-time payroll deduction.

About the State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC)

This year, we are excited to provide an Early Giving Incentive! Make a donation by Friday, October 10th and you will be entered to win one of the great prizes listed here.

Eligibility

Tier 1: One-time payroll deduction of at least $100 or at least $9/month through the online payroll deduction.

Lunch for two at Sandbar & Grill
Faculty/Staff Meal Plan

Tier 2: One-time payroll deduction of at least $50 or at least $5/month through online payroll deduction.

The last few years have been challenging for many organizations that support programs in the communities. By donating, you can help build stronger communities, support healthy children and families, boost economic conditions, and provide better educational opportunities. Whether you are passionate about education, health, financial stability, or providing basic needs, SECC gives you the opportunity to be a part of the solution.

You can choose your charity designation from the list of approved organizations listed online in SSO or on the official SECC website here. All participating organizations must meet strict eligibility standards established by state law, and they are screened by the SECC State Policy Committee. You can feel confident that your gift is being used efficiently and effectively by your designated charity or charities.

Making a contribution is easy:

Make your contribution online
Go to sso.tamus.edu (login and select ‘SECC Enrollment’ from the SSO Menu)
1. Payroll Deduction
  1. Select Payroll Deduction and indicate one-time, 9 Month, or 12 Month deduction
  2. Select your charity or charities and designate the amount of gift
  3. Complete and submit the form
  4. Start dates for deduction is the first PAYDATE in January 2025.

Event Activity Pledge/Donation
1. Join us at the East Lawn on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for Pizza-Rama.
2. The purpose of this fundraisers is to foster the SECC/TAMU-CC spirit of giving and encourage ongoing donations during the campaign.
3. Donate $5 or more for 2 slices of pizza and a drink.
4. All donations will benefit local charities via the SECC.

Some examples of the Islander Impact your gift makes:

$20 PER MONTH for one year:

Provides food for one guide dog in advanced training.
Buys six cases of non-latex gloves to keep volunteers safe during beach cleanups.
Provides a full year of groceries for a homebound senior.
Supports training in an environmental career for a person with a disability.

$10 PER MONTH for one year:

Screens one uninsured woman for breast cancer.
Pays for a veteran’s occupational certification to find employment.
Underwrites free museum admission for 30 students.
Will help a family in crisis with their monthly utility or grocery bills.

$5 PER MONTH for one year:

Sponsors eyes exams for two children in need.
Provides 12 students with an interactive CD on college-age depression and suicide.
Covers the registration fee for one patient or family member to attend the National Organization for Rare Disorders Patient/Family Conference.
Underwrites equipment and supplies for five people to spend a morning cleaning a beach or river bank.
