Location

Courses at The National Spill Control School at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) are held in the Carlos Truan National Resources Center (NRC), Suite 1101. (Google Map Here)

What to expect

All courses are conducted from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Lectures take place in our classroom located in the NRC on the TAMUCC campus. Field exercise meeting places will be determined by the course instructor before the event. We pride ourselves in fostering a comfortable and dynamic learning environment. We accomplish that by providing a one-hour lunch each day and frequent breaks.

What to bring

  • You can never have enough fluids. Additional water, electrolyte drinks, and any other cooling tools are recommended for field exercise course days. We will have water on hand. We provide coffee in the morning of lectures and there are vending machines on site.

  • Closed-toed shoes are required and gloves are recommended for Marine Oil Spill Response courses. We recommend that on any course days that require field work you dress cool and comfortable and take adequate measures to protect yourself from UV exposure.

Parking

Please provide the make, model, and license plate number upon arrival on the first course day. Participants will park in front of the Carlos Truan National Resource Center in the NRC lot. (Campus Map Here). The parking lot is located between Ocean and Islander Drive.
