To create a vibrant campus climate that makes Corpus Christi a university town through active, multifaceted engagement that extends throughout the region

  • Alumni engagement and giving participation rate
  • Level of philanthropic donations
  • Number of internships and job placement (local and total)
  • Number of university leadership contributions to community (i.e. board memberships)
  • Student participation in co-curricular events, campus traditions, multicultural programming, volunteer opportunities, and athletic events
  • Number of Southland Conference championships and NCAA postseason appearances
  • Number of community sponsorships and partnerships
  • Number of speaking events/lectures that include the community
  • Number of active advisory councils on campus with community/industry/employer participation/representatives

OBJECTIVES

  • Develop programs and services that engage Islander students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the Coastal Bend region, to build a sense of community, foster university traditions, and promote Islander pride and spirit, resulting in increased recognition and visibility
  • Build upon the success of Islanders Athletics programs to gain positive local, regional, and national attention
  • Develop strategic and holistic approaches to community service, engagement, and sustained partnerships in student learning and professional development, public and civic participation, research and scholarly opportunities, and donor involvement
  • Create an active learning community among students, faculty, staff, and the community that engages in open discourse and enhanced understanding about what it means to be a diverse and socially just community
  • Preserve and conserve resources of cultural value and historical significance to our region and Coastal Bend community, especially those of traditionally underrepresented populations
  • Positively impact workforce, economic, and social development across the Coastal Bend
