Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society Welcomes 79 Islander Nursing Students
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – A total of 79 new members were inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing on May 10, in the Performing Arts Center at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Each inductee received a lavender and white honorary cord, along with an inductee ribbon from Eta Omicron Chapter officers. Forty-one inductees will receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and 38 inductees will receive a Master of Science in Nursing at the Spring 2018 Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 12.
The Keynote address featured Mark Reinhardt, DNP, RN, FNP-BC, CNS, CEN, a retired military officer and associate professor in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. He shared his journey in nursing through United States Army leadership with audience members and future nurses.
Sigma Theta Tau International membership consists of undergraduate and graduate students, as well as nursing leaders from the community. New inductees must meet requirements of academic success, academic integrity, professionalism and leadership potential.
