A Win-Win Partnership; The College of Business Teams up with Islanders Athletics
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – Great business people are committed to their mission. They drive for results. They build relationships, champion change, and thrive on passion for their work. These are keys to success in the ever-evolving world of business.
Coincidentally, those same skills are what help athletes win games. Passion. Drive. An innovative spirit. And strong relationships? It’s basketball, people! The ability to drive ahead with a team is essential.
So, it’s no wonder the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi College of Business and the Islanders Men’s Basketball Team are joining forces for the win against McNeese State on Wednesday, February 28, at the American Bank Center.
"The Department of Athletics is proud to partner with the College of Business for an Islanders basketball game,” said Travis M. Whipple, Deputy Director of Athletics. “This will provide an opportunity to showcase the outstanding students, programs, faculty and staff within the College. Dean John Gamble, Shawn Elizondo, and staff have been tremendous to work with. We are excited to partner for years to come."
The game is simply the latest example of the collaboration between the two forces. It’s Dean Gamble’s mission to continue to support Islander Athletics and all student athletes.
“We look forward to growing this relationship,” Gamble said. “And, the College of Business is looking forward to a victory over McNeese State. Go ‘Ders!”
Join us in cheering on the Islanders Men’s Basketball Team and recognizing Texas A&M-Corpus Christi’s College of Business faculty, staff, alumni and local community supporters. It all begins at 7 p.m., Wednesday, February 28, at the American Bank Center.
