New Online Dean’s List Showcases Islander Student Success

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – When Islander students succeed in their classes, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi celebrates their hard work through the Dean’s List, an academic honor given each fall and spring semester. Now, that list is available online to publically showcase student achievement.

“As the Islander Pledge states, Islanders strive for personal and intellectual growth and excellence. Recognizing these students shows their dedication to be high achievers,” said Dr. Ted Guffy, interim provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at A&M-Corpus Christi.

To make the Dean’s List, an Islander student must be working towards their undergraduate degree, take a minimum of 12 semester hours, complete all of their coursework and earn a 3.65 GPA or higher. This is no small accomplishment, especially when many students must maintain academic excellence while also working, performing in athletic teams or participating in extracurricular activities.

“The Registrar’s Office provides records of academic progress and performance directly to the student each term. With the Dean’s List now available online, these momentous accomplishments can be shared with the public,” said Missy Chapa, Interim University Registrar.

Want to search for your name or someone you know? The online Dean’s List can be viewed at tamucc.edu/deans-list. The list is searchable by name, academic college and city or state. PDF files of Dean’s Lists from the Spring 2017, Fall 2016 and Spring 2016 semesters are also available.
