Naming Contest
Help us select a new name for the University area located at Nile/Ennis Joslin.
The term “momentum” describes a time in TAMU-CC’s history when the campus began growing rapidly as we transitioned from an upper division institution to the four-year university we are today. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has developed our own culture and personality, and we want a name that better reflects the Islander life now. What does it mean to be a Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islander? What things come to mind that are a part of your experience? Who are we as Islanders?
You have a chance to submit an entry to rename the university area located at Nile/Ennis Joslin. The contest is open to all currently enrolled TAMU-CC students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Submissions will be accepted starting 8 a.m. on March 20, 2023, through 11:59 p.m. on April 10, 2023.
Contest Rules
- Entry submission will begin at 8 a.m. Monday, March 20, 2023, and end at 11:59 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2023. A completed entry must include the entrant's name, telephone number, email address, classification (student, faculty, staff, or alumni) and the name suggestion(s).
- The Naming Contest is open to students currently registered and attending classes during the spring 2023 semester at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, all full-time and part-time faculty and staff currently employed by Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, and university alumni. Multiple submissions are permitted. All entrants will be verified through student and employee records.
- To encourage submissions, one grand prize will be awarded through a random drawing. Only currently enrolled students will be entered for the random drawing. Faculty, staff and alumni are not eligible for the prize. One entry will be credited per student for the random drawing. If a student submits more than one entry, only the first entry will be entered for the random drawing. Being randomly selected as the grand prize winner does not indicate the winner’s suggested name will be chosen for the area at Nile/Ennis Joslin.
- All name suggestions will be reviewed by a committee to determine the winning name.
