Department of Interdisciplinary Studies

The Department of Interdisciplinary Studies is home to several innovative programs that support undergraduate student success, including the First-Year Learning Communities Program (FYLCP), the Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) and University Studies degree (UNVS) programs, and several interdisciplinary minors.

Faculty

The University Studies (BA, BS) degree is a flexible undergraduate program which allows students to design a course of study that best fits their educational and career goals rather than follow a specific track of coursework prescribed by a major degree. The Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) degree program offers students the opportunity to apply up to 42 vocational or technical credits towards the completion of a bachelor’s degree. With 8 different tracks to choose from, students are able to tailor their degree to meet their career goals.
