LGBTQ+ History Month

LGBTQ+ History Month at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi

LGBTQ+ History Month, which began in 1994, is an annual month-long celebration in October of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender history, as well as the history of gay rights and associated civil rights movements. October was chosen because it corresponds with National Coming Out Day on October 11 and the month of the first March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights in 1979. LGBTQ+ History Month provides role models, builds community, and represents a civil rights statement about the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community. Join TAMU-CC for a month of community collaboration, games, prizes, food, and more!
