Performance Management

Performance management is an ongoing process of communication between a supervisor and employee, focused on helping the employee achieve his or her best workplace results. It requires thoughtful planning, ongoing communication and commitment.  Human Resources assists managers and professionals in establishing performance expectations and accountability to ensure productive employees and work environments.

Performance Review Procedure

Workday is the online performance management module the university uses to facilitate the employee performance review.

Outline of the process:

  1. An employee submits a self-evaluation to his/her manager.
  2. Manager has two separate options, or To-Do actions in their Workday inbox, to add additional reviewers.  Both of these options may be skipped using the gear icon in the Workday inbox tasks.
  3. Manager completes review and sends to employee.
  4. Employee reviews and returns to manager.
  5. Manager completes the process and submits final copy to HR in Workday.

Staff Performance Evaluations are due May 31.
