Do faculty members with 9-month appointments earn Sick Leave?
Yes, a faculty member who is benefit eligible (50 percent or more time for at least 4 ½ months or longer) is eligible to accrue and use sick leave during the 9-month period of appointment. However, they cannot access sick leave during periods of non-appointment.
Can a 9-month faculty member use earned sick leave during the summer?
A faculty member who has an active appointment in the summer may use sick leave. A faculty member cannot access sick leave during period of non-appointment.
Do faculty members earn Vacation Leave?
Faculty members with as 12-month appointment earn vacation time.
