Student Fee Advisory Committee
Purpose or Function: The Student Fee Advisory Committee is charged with advising the university administration on the type, amount, and expenditure of compulsory fees under the Texas Education Code: section 54.503 for student service fees; section 54.507 for student health and medical services fees; section 54.521 for student center facilities; and section 54.539 for recreational sports fees.
Membership: The committee is chaired by the Associate Vice President for Student Engagement and Success/Dean of Students and is comprised of eight (8) additional members members: five (5) students are selected by the Student Government Association and three (3) university representatives (faculty/staff/students) recommended by the Vice President for Student Engagement and Success and Intercollegiate Athletics and appointed by the President. Faculty and staff members will serve two-year terms. Student members may be appointed to serve either one- or two-year terms. Upon appointment, the Student Government will indicate the member's term length. Any vacancies are filled in the manner in which they were originally appointed.
