About the hackathon
IslanderHack is a 2-day themed weekend, exclusive for Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi students, designed for interdisciplinary Islander teams to work together to create innovative Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered prototypes to environmental sustainability and social-economical challenges.Teams showcase AI-powered prototypes after up to 32 hours of hacking.

Hackathon FAQs
Any TAMU-CC currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students can sign up to be a hacker.
The deadline for registration is September 14th at 23:59. We'll be doing rolling admissions until that date on a first-come, first-served basis. Our capacity is limited to 50 student seats, so make sure to apply early!
It’s completely free for all accepted hackers.
This is an in-person event. It will be hosted at the University Center Lone Star A Ballroom on Friday 9/19 and at UC Anchor Ballrooms on Saturday 9/20 and Sunday 9/21.

Only events marked “*” are mandatory. We will have workshops throughout the event. Please check back for live updates closer to the event.
Teams are limited to 3-5 hackers. We hackers have the most success with teams of 4. Hackers cannot participate solo. If you have a team in mind, make sure all members submit an application before the deadline.It’s important to ensure your team has a good mix of technical expertise, UI/UX design, and project management and communication skills. If you don't have a team and would like to be a part of one, no worries! We can assist with team formation after the opening ceremony.

Submission & Judging FAQ
Participants can work on only one project. Participants are encouraged to talk to judges to ensure project ideas align with the overall theme.
No. All work is required to be developed during the hackathon. Judges will check team member Devpost profiles on previous submissions (if any) as part of the judging process.
Hacking starts at 3:00 pm on Friday 9/19. No previous work is accepted. Judges will assess if the project can be developed and advanced in a single weekend.
All teams are required to submit their projects on Devpost by 10:00 AM on Sunday 9/22/2025.
Yes. Participants are required todisclose the tools used and be clear on what you made. Without proper credits, projects will be disqualified.
Yes. Each team will be given 10 minutes to pitch the project to judges as judges visit each booth.The top 5 teams will present live in front of judges and students.

Any team where 50% or more of the team members have never participated in a hackathon before will be eligible for this award.
