Recently Admitted Transfer Students

Students will receive an email from Information Technology with the subject line My Island ID is ready for use, which will provide you with a security code. 

Enter the security code at myislandid.tamucc.edu to claim your Island ID and create a password to access your various accounts. 

Can't find your security code? Call I.T. at 361.825.2692 for assistance. 

Your Island ID and password will give you access to various accounts:

• Islander Email 
• SAIL student portal 
• Islander Housing application 
• Islander Launch Orientation registration 
• Canvas to access class assignments 

Claiming your Island ID and creating a password will allow you to move forward with your next steps. 

Your university email address is IslandID@islander.tamucc.edu.

Your Island ID is typically the first letter of your first name and your last name (may include a number). 

Your Islander Email will serve as your primary avenue of communication with the Island University. 

You will receive emails from Housing, Orientation, Financial Aid, Business Office, professors, and more. 

Login to your account at islander.tamucc.edu. 

To apply for financial assistance, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This application is completed annually by current and prospective students to determine eligibility for grants, loans, scholarships and work-study.

The FAFSA will be available beginning in December for students entering in 2024. To complete the FAFSA, you will need past tax information. If you are not able to complete the FAFSA due to citizenship requirements, you may be eligible to complete the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) at collegeforalltexas.com. 

To be considered for Incoming and Current Student Scholarships, apply online at the Scholarship Office website. Applications are available from October 1 - March 1.

You can accept your scholarships and financial aid and access other student information in SAIL at sail.tamucc.edu. SAIL is a secure online portal where you can gain instant access to your student records at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Access to SAIL is granted upon acceptance to the University.

If you haven't had a chance to visit campus, register for a campus tour or attend an admissions event!  

Events and campus tours are offered at various times throughout the year. Transfer Student Tours are offered on Tuesdays at 9am.

Texas Senate Bill 1107 (now TEC 51.9192) requires all students entering an institution of higher education (public and private) to either receive a vaccination against bacterial meningitis or meet certain criteria for declining such a vaccination before the first day of the semester. 

*Students who are admitted to a 100% online program do not have to upload a shot record. 

Please visit the TAMU-CC Bacterial Meningitis webpage here, to submit proof of vaccination and for important information about vaccination requirements. You should NOT attempt to register with Med+Proctor as a Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi student before you’re admitted.

*Please Note: All Med+Proctor immunization record submissions are FREE. If you are needing a quicker turnaround time, there is an expedite option for a $10 fee. This will move your submission to the front of the line/que for review. 

Students who fail to submit certified proof of vaccination or a valid booster within the required timeframe will be unable to register for their intended term. Please note, vaccinations older than 5 years will require a booster and all bacterial meningitis vaccinations and boosters must be administered by a health practitioner authorized by law to administer an immunization. 

Make sure your TSI scores or exemptions are on file. If you've already completed college-level English and math, you may be TSI complete.

Once all holds are cleared and orientation is complete, log in to SAIL: Student Tab → Registration → Add or Drop Classes

Have you thought about changing your major? You must change your major prior to attending an Islander Launch. Complete a Change of Major Form and submit to the Office of Recruitment and Admissions so that your major can be updated. Browse through our various majors and review program requirements here.   

Update Your Contact Information: Perhaps you’ve moved or gotten a new phone number since you applied for admission. Be sure to check S.A.I.L. to verify the contact information we currently have on file for you and make updates as necessary. Remember: The University will use this information to communicate with you, so it is best that it remains up-to-date at all times.
