Group Tours (for School and Community Groups)

Group Tour Arrival & Time

Group tours are one hour in length and begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. Groups should plan to arrive by 9:45 a.m. to allow time for check-in and restroom break.

Dining On Campus & Optional Add-Ons

Groups may request lunch on campus and/or up to two optional add-ons (such as an admissions presentation or campus store visit), based on availability.

Islander Dining Hall (All-You-Care-to-Eat Facility):

• $11.91 per person (before tax)

• $12.89 per person (including tax)

• Tax-exempt schools or organizations must provide a valid tax exemption form on the day of the visit.

• Preferred payment is credit card. Checks can be made to "Chartwells Higher Education." Refunds are not provided.

Groups of 25 or fewer who plan to self-pay may dine at other on-campus eateries.

Please note: Outside meals are not permitted on campus without prior approval from University Services.

Student Registration Requirement

All high school and transfer students must complete an individual campus tour registration prior to arrival. Registration instructions will be included in the group confirmation email.

Acknowledgment of Policies

By submitting a group tour request, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the Group Tour Policies linked below.

Group Supervision & Responsibility

• All visiting groups must be accompanied by adult chaperones, teachers, or sponsors at all times.

• A minimum ratio of one (1) adult chaperone per 25 students is required.

• Responsibility for student supervision and behavior rests with the designated adults, not Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi staff.

Student Conduct & Expectations

• Students and guests are expected to conduct themselves respectfully while on campus.

• Disruptive behavior is not permitted. University staff and tour guides reserve the right to end a tour early if behavior becomes disruptive.

• Students may not enter classrooms, laboratories, offices, or restricted spaces unless explicitly instructed by tour staff.

• All university property must be treated with care. Vandalism, graffiti, or damage will not be tolerated.

Registration Requirement

• All high school and community college students must be registered for the campus tour using the registration link provided in the confirmation email. 

• Registration may be completed in advance or during the bus ride to campus, but must be completed prior to arrival.

Arrival, Check-In & Timing

• Sponsors must call the Islander Welcome Center (361.825.8687) 15–30 minutes prior to arrival.

• Groups should arrive at their scheduled arrival time. Early and late arrivals may not be accommodated.

• If a group arrives early, guests may take a restroom break in the Michael and Karen O’Connor Building until staff are available.

Late Arrivals

• Due to staffing schedules, groups arriving more than 15 minutes late may have their tour shortened, adjusted, or canceled.

• Groups are encouraged to arrive on time and plan accordingly for travel delays.

Dining & Meals on Campus
Islander Dining Hall

• The Islander Dining Hall is a pay-to-enter facility.

• Payment must be made on-site at the time of entry; advance or phone payments are not accepted.

• Tax-exempt groups must provide a tax exemption form on the day of the visit for adjusted pricing.

• Refunds are not available.

• Sponsors are encouraged to collect student payments in advance and submit one lump-sum payment.

Outside Food

• Groups wishing to bring outside food must complete a Food Exemption Form and receive university approval at least two (2) weeks prior to the visit.

• Students are not permitted to eat at other campus dining locations outside of the Islander Dining Hall unless approved.

Presentations & Special Requests

• If presentations are scheduled, students and sponsors are expected to be attentive and respectful to presenters.

• Presentations may be adjusted or canceled due to staff or space availability.

Cancellations & Changes

• If you must cancel your request, please do so more than two (2) weeks in advance. Please contact the Islander Welcome Center at 361.825.8687 or tour@tamucc.edu to cancel.

Liability

• By participating in a group tour, the host organization agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, the Texas A&M University System, and the Board of Regents from any claims, losses, or damages arising from the visit.

Acknowledgement

By scheduling and participating in a group tour, sponsors acknowledge that they have read, understand, and agree to comply with these policies.

Campus tours are not offered on university holidays, major events, or campus closures. We encourage you to explore alternative visit dates.
