International Freshman Admission
You will apply for admission as an international freshman student if you:
- Not a U.S. citizen nor a permanent resident of the United States, and
- A holder or prospective holder of an F-1 student visa, and
- Have graduated or will graduate from high school.

English Proficiency Requirements:
If an applicant’s native language is not English, student will be required to submit proof of English proficiency. If the applicant is a citizen of one of the following countries, the applicant will be exempt from the English proficiency requirement for admission and considered English language proficiency verified:
- American Samoa
- Anguilla
- Antigua and Barbuda
- Australia
- Bahamas
- Barbados
- Belize
- Bermuda
- British Virgin Islands
- Canada (except Quebec)
- Cayman Islands
- Dominica
- Federated States of Micronesia
- Gambia

English proficiency can also be demonstrated by submitting a:
- Minimum TOEFL IBT score of 73 or,
- Minimum TOEFL Paper-Based score of 537 or
- Minimum TOEFL CBT score of 205 or
- Minimum SAT Evidence Based Reading and Writing (EBRW) score of 550 (undergraduates) or
- Minimum ACT English score of 21 (undergraduates) or
- Minimum PTE Academic score of 53
- Minimum IELTS Academic test score of 6.0 overall band for both undergraduate and graduate students (TAMUCC does not accept the IELTS General test) or
- Minimum ITEP score between 3.5 - 3.9 for graduate students or
- Duolingo English Test and English3: TAMU-CC is currently accepting both the Duolingo English Test and English3 online assessments from applicants where TOEFL and IELTS exams are impacted due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) concerns. Applicants from affected countries may submit Duolingo English Test scores of 100 (105 on Duolingo English3) to satisfy English proficiency requirements.
- Completing all four years in a high school within the U.S. and obtaining a subsequent U.S. high school degree (undergraduates)
- Cambridge Cl Advanced Proficiency Test (Cambridge CAE) of 175 or
- Cambridge C2 Proficiency Test (Cambridge CPE) of 180
- The applicant provides other compelling evidence of English proficiency to the Office of Recruitment and Admissions.
- The applicant successfully completed two years of instruction (taught in the English Language) at a US or Canadian high school or college.
*If you don't meet the above English language test score requirements, you may be eligible for admission to the university through the International Pathway Program.

Holistic Review without Test Scores
Students who do not meet automatic admission requirements (or do not submit test scores) may be considered for Freshman International Admission through a holistic review of their credentials. All students are encouraged to apply.
Fall 2023 Admission Criteria
Students who graduate high school within the high school class quartile below will be guaranteed admission if the required diploma type is earned.
Although not required for admission purposes, applicants are strongly encouraged to submit SAT or ACT scores to the university for academic advising and enrollment purposes.
Students who attend a non-ranking high school, will be provided a class ranking based off of their GPA and the admissions office's internal ranking system.
Please note that our nursing, engineering, graphic design, music, and theatre programs require additional information and have additional admission requirements after university acceptance. Please refer to their respective departments for more information.

International Transcript Evaluation Report
To obtain an international transcript evaluation report, you must submit official transcripts from all international high schools, colleges and universities attended to one of the University-approved evaluation agencies listed below (A Detailed Course by Course evaluation report is required):

Once evaluated, the agency you choose must forward their evaluation report directly to the Office of Recruitment and Admissions.
We only accept evaluation reports from the agencies listed above. Do not send your international transcripts to our University. We only require the transcript evaluation report provided by the agency.
Official U.S. College Transcripts:
- You must submit official transcripts from all U.S. colleges and universities attended.
- An official transcript bears the original signature of a school official and/or an official school seal.
ACT and SAT Test Scores
ACT and/or SAT scores are required for an admissions decision and must be sent directly from the testing agency. Test scores can also be used to determine merit scholarship eligibility and admission into the Honors Program.
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi also accepts ACT and SAT scores that are posted on the back of an official sealed transcript.
We recommend sending all testing attempts as our office "super scores" and reviews the highest scores from each test to form a new composite score.

Texas Success Initiative
ACT and SAT scores may also be used to exempt students from taking the Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSI), the state-mandated college placement exam.
Admitted students are required to submit TSI scores if they are not exempt to determine college-readiness. Please visit the admitted students webpage for more information or contact the Office of Academic Testing at 361.825.2334 or atcweb@tamucc.edu.
Application Deadlines
Texas A&M-Corpus Christi has rolling admissions, however we encourage students to meet the priority deadlines listed below.

In addition to applying to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and submitting required documents for an admissions decision, we encourage you to be proactive and do the following.
- Upload proof of Bacterial Meningitis vaccination (shot record) to Med+Proctor f you are under the age of 22. Click on the admitted students link to access the Med+Proctor page.
- Review Islander Housing opportunities. TAMU-CC has a first-year residency requirement for student who reside outside of the Coastal Bend and are under the age of 21.
- Submit TSI test scores or exemptions.
